When I was 16 weeks pregnant, we learned that I was having a boy. Talk about excited! I already had a three year old daughter and lots of girls in my family, so having a boy was big news. I noticed that the ultrasound was taking a long time, but when she finished, the sonogram technician said everything looked good except that the baby wasn’t cooperating enough for her to get all the pictures she needed. I laughed, “he’s stubborn already!” I said. Little did I know that the tech suspected that my baby boy had a cleft lip. She asked me to come back for another ultrasound at 20 weeks, which was fine by me. I would get another sneak peek at my little boy!
